Lumini is built privacy-first — so this page explains, plainly, what that means for your data, both on this website and in the app.

The short version
- The Lumini app runs locally. In v1 it has no cloud, so what it senses and remembers stays on your machine — we never receive it.
- This website only collects what you choose to send us through the waitlist and contact forms.
- We don't sell your data, run advertising trackers, or build a profile of you.

Who we are
Lumini is a one-person studio based in Europe. For data-protection purposes, the founder is the data controller for this website. You can reach us at ou@souler.cc. Our website is lumini.my.
What this policy covers
There are two distinct things here, and they handle data very differently, so we treat them separately below: (a) this website (lumini.my) and its forms, and (b) the Lumini desktop app.
The website: what we collect and why
Waitlist form. Your email address (and anything else you type in). We use it only to send you the early build, the DIY StackChan guide, and occasional honest progress notes. Legal basis: your consent — you can unsubscribe at any time.
Contact form. Your name, email, chosen topic, and message. We use these only to read and reply to you. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in responding (and taking steps at your request).
Form delivery. When you submit a form, the submission is handled by a third-party form-processing service and delivered to our email inbox. These providers process the data on our behalf, under their own security and privacy terms.
Server logs. Like most websites, our hosting provider may briefly process standard technical data (such as your IP address, browser type, and the time of your request) to serve the site securely. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in security and reliability.
Web fonts. This site currently loads fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser requests them from Google's servers, and Google may log your IP address. We intend to self-host our fonts to remove this dependency.
The Lumini app: privacy by architecture
In v1, the Lumini desktop app runs entirely on your own computer. What it senses — through your camera, microphone, or (only with your explicit, revocable permission) your screen — and what it remembers about you, such as your context and preferences, is stored locally on your machine. We do not receive it, and there is no cloud to send it to. You can inspect and delete what it remembers.
If we ever add optional cloud features (for example, encrypted cross-device sync), they will be strictly opt-in, and we will update this policy before they ship.
What we don't do
We don't sell or rent your data. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. We don't run third-party analytics that profile you. We don't share your information except with the service providers needed to operate the site, or where the law requires it.
Service providers & international transfers
To run the website and forms, we rely on a small number of providers — hosting, a form-processing service, and email — which act on our instructions. Some may be located outside your country or the European Economic Area. Where that is the case, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep your data
Waitlist emails: until you unsubscribe or we close the waitlist. Contact messages: for as long as needed to handle your enquiry, plus a reasonable period afterward. Server logs: only for a short period, as set by our hosting provider.
Your rights
If you're in the EU/EEA — and in many other places — you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your data, to object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. You can also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. To exercise any of these, email ou@souler.cc and we'll respond as promptly as we can.
Cookies
This site does not use cookies for tracking or advertising. Any cookies that may be set are strictly necessary for the site or its forms to function.
Children
Lumini isn't directed at children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their personal data.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Lumini evolves. The "last updated" date above always reflects the current version; if we make a material change, we'll do our best to let waitlist members know.
